A Great Holiday In Llangollen

A customer from OTLEY who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

The Wild Pheasant hotel is in a beautiful location at the foot of welsh hills and is easily accessible, being at the side of the main route through the town (but not particularly busy/noisy). The staff were extremely helpful and were courteous at all times despite a few problems for them as new owners had taken over a few days before our visit and were in the process of changing things. A visit to Llangollen steam railway (just down the road) was very pleasant. Not too busy as we got there early-trains run 3 times a a day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. A very scenic route through winding valleys and beside the river on a comfortable steam train-only ?8 per adult return (a bargain for the length of the journey). A cosy little cafe at each end makes a good cup of tea at a reasonable price! Not much to actually see in the town itself (there is a barge pulled by a shire horse for another scenic trip out) and it was extremely busy. Also a great lack of places to eat made it quite an expensive holiday having to eat at the hotel-but the meals are excellent. Well worth a visit for peace and quiet and the scenery. I highly recommend this hotel.

Welcome to North Wales

A customer from Chester Le Street who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Try Caesars Restaurant by the river in LLangollen centre. You will get a very warm welcome and food cooked to order. Chirk Castle and Erddig are both National Trust properties and well worth a visit especially for the home cooked food on offer in the restaurants Llangollen proved a wonderful centre for touring with great scenery and good road network and the Wild Pheasant Hotel proved an excellent base.

Llangollen and the Dee Valley

A customer from Southampton who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

We were favoured with great weather, and travelled from Ythe Hotel to Betws -y-Coed - our first visit there for many years. It was a little disappointing because of the commercial development, so on to Llanberis for the train up Snowdon - brilliant. We wish now that we had missed out Betws and had more time to see the many attractions of Llanderis. We then drove through the stunning Snowdon National Park. On out way back south we took the Welshpool route and spent an enjoyable couple pf hours at Powys Castle - a truly attractive National Trust property.

Relaxing Pamper Stay

A customer from Merseyside who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

The idea of the stay was to relax and spend quality time together so we did not leave the hotel. The Spa was great, the massage was excellent and staff were friendly. On arrival they took our lunch order and asked what time we would like it served then explained what would be happening the next few hours. The massage was so relaxing and we could not believe how quickly the time passed. After the massage our light lunch, which was anything but light, was served to us in the Courtyard. We had plenty of choice for our evening meal and the standard of food and service was excellent. Again there was plenty of choce for breakfast and the staff were very friendly and efficint. The room was clean and spacious with tea/coffee facilites and a TV the only criticism was the shower - it was at the wrong angle and far to close to the edge of the bath which meant that you could not stand directly underneath it. Overall the staff was really enjoyable and everything we wanted - well worth the money and would recommend.
