Happy Birthday

The main reason for our visit was to celebrate our son's birthday. We chose the hotel because it is convenient for where he lives in cardiff. We have already visited many of the local attractions before but love the atmosphere of the Cardiff Bay area. A great place to spend a short break with coast, mountains and shops all within easy reach.

We stayed at the Park Inn before, and that why we stayed there again. Its easy to get to, Just off the A48.You can see it while you drive down. The pool and spa was another reason we came back. We came down by car and used the bus to get in to Cardif. Why bother trying to find your way into the city center and then get a parking space, when you can get on a bus outside the hotel! The room was comfortable and even though it faced the main road we heard very little trafic noise. We booked in for breakfast, which was buffet style it was very nice and the staff friendly. If you don't wish to have your evening meal in the hotel,(we didn't) there is a Harvester up the road within walking distance. If we need to come to cardiff again we will be book here again.

A Weekend in Cardiff

Travelling by car to the Park Inn, Cardiff was very easy and parking at the hotel was spacious. Although first impressions of the hotel were good, the room was slightly shabby and the hotel itself very noisy at night. The breakfast may have been acceptable when first put out but although we didn't arrive down too late, about half past eight, it was by then dried up and unpleasant. We left the car at the hotel on the Friday and Saturday and travelled into Cardiff by bus as the bus stop was very near and buses regular. A day ticket was only GBP and this meant we could jump on and off buses at leisure.This gave us the freedom to enjoy the many shops and places of interest in Cardiff City centre and in Cardiff Bay. I would recommend a vist to the city centre museum and also to St Fagins, although as the latter is mainly an outside attraction - it was bitterly cold in December and would be less attractive when raining. It was quite easy to find with sat. nav but I feel may have proved much more difficult to locate if following the sparse signage.

very nice hotel apart from no hjeating in the restaraunt but they did put us near a potrtable heater
