We went to Cardiff for a VWF gig, amazing band live and a brilliant venue in the bay (the point) The gig was loud and long and we had a lovely hotel room to go back to and recover, and a very powerful shower to wake us up the next morning (errr afternoon)

Bute Park is outstanding. Miles of parkland right in the heart of the city and right by Cardiff Castle. Cardiff has everything - Castle, coast, park, river, shopping centre - even an ice rink! Just don't take your car. That's what was so good about the Park Inn Hotel - you really could park!

Rugby Weekend in Cardiff

EDF semi finals weekend. Millennium Stadium great, but not being allowed out between matches is awful. The choice of food and drink is abysmal and the queues spoiled the whole day. Stayed at Cardiff Moat House, which was an excellent value overnight stay for us - 2 adults, 2 teenagers. Taxi to and from cardiff ?10 - worth it to avoid the awful parking in Cardiff.
