our son was playing in the fa youth cup against cardiff.sunderland lost but was very enjoyable.we didnt have much time to do anything else becouse of the long journey.......the next day was very bad with snow so we set off early.we used the hotels pool steam and sauna room which was nice after a long journey but the jaccuzzi was not working apart from that the hotel was great.........aaa++++

Weekend Break in Cardiff

We visited Cardiff for the Carling Cup Final in February 2007 and really enjoyed our stay. The Park Inn is a good hotel - the only downside is the location - the brochure estimates that it is about 4 miles outside Cardiff (Taxi Fare between (?9 and ?12) and there are no shops etc visibly near by. However, the Hotel offers great breakfasts and a good pool and fitness suite. If you get a chance, visit the Millenium Stadium - fantastic venue & atmosphere

UK Ultimate Frisbee Mixed Tour

We play for a London-based Ultimate Frisbee Mixed team called the Thundering Herd. While most of the team stayed at a B&B down the road, we spent an extra tenner for a hotel room. And it was totally worth it! We played at the University of Cardiff sports fields, and it was an excellently run tournament. We had all our meals at the venue, and the weather was beautiful. But nothing completed the tournament experience as coming back after a hard days play and jumping into the jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, followed by a quick swim too before having dinner at the restaurant at the hotel. The food was great and the staff were incredibly friendly. I'm sure that our relaxing stay at this hotel helped enhance our playing the following day. We will certainly be back, and I'm sure the entire squad will be wanting to stay this time!
