Chepstow's Delights!

Visiting Chepstow Castle allowed you to step back in time and re-live the lives of those who used the Castle over the centuries...truly wonderful! Tintern Abbey, set in a beautiful valley and passed by a mesmorising river, was a wonderul day out. Understanding the lives of the monks who lived there was a priveledged experience - one I will not forget. The Big Pit gave us a great chance to briefly understand the lives of the miners in this now quiet town. Going down a 290ft mine shaft and walking through the tunnels is not something all may enjoy!

Top Hotel for a Weekend Break

If you want to get away for a weekend, The St Pierre is a great choice. The accommodation is classic, but well maintained and the grounds and exterior are quite stunning. Staff are really attentive - we were also greeted by the customer services manager as it was our anniversary. The food was a good standard, but not stunning, in the main restaurant. Unfortunately the golf courses were under water, so we didn't get a chance to play. Having played there before, I know they are top class.
