Relaxing Break in Llangollen

A customer from Ryde who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

We were amazed to find the hotel nestling precariously between the fast flowing river and the calm canal. A walk along the canal path was a great way to exercise after the car journey. Llangollen is a lovely place, with a variety of interesting shops which are more reminiscent of yesteryear than most english towns. This was an ideal location for anyone wanting to recharge their batteries - so much peace and quiet with fabulous scenery and friendly people.

Rest A While in Llangollen

A customer from Northampton who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Our journey to the West Coast of Ireland was going to take too long to do the journey in one day so we took advantage of an overnight break at the Chainbridge Hotel, Llangollen. The hotel is obviously in the process of refurbishment but the management did a superb job of ensuring that this did not interfere with guests' comfort. We enjoyed a pleasant drink in the evening followed by a superb meal that exceeded our expectations by a considerable margin. The steam trains passing through Berwyn Station (clearly visible from the hotel dining room) brought an unexpected touch of nostalgia to the evening. Our onward journey was all the better for this brief but most enjoyable break in Wales.

An Unspoilt Picturesque Beauty

A customer who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

With the racing river dee looking out the window and the lazy llangollen canal 6 feet from the front door the chainbridge hotel is in a real gem of a location. Walk the canal to town centre 2 miles down, then take one of many routes depending on ability taking in sites like horseshoe pass and dinas bran castle eventually ending up back at the hotel, or for the more nostalgic grab the old style carriage steam train back to the chainbridge. Ideally situated on the A5,most of north Wales top attractions can be reached in an hour, but allow more time to take in the breathtaking scenery. This really is the place to be if your in to walks, site seeing, history, relaxation, mountains, waterfalls, rivers, steam trains, slate mines, castles and monasteries.
