Cardiff for the Weekend

A customer from BURNHAM-ON-CROUCH who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

We went to see Wales play the Springboks at the Millennium Stadium, We've been there before. Cardiff is a great place to spend the day. This time we did the shops, especially the unique and charming Arcades (victorian) for Christmas goodies. Our old restaurant has closed but we found a great place to have dinner: The Madeira in Guildford Crescent. The food is authentic Portuguese and the kebabs come on long skewers that hang from the ceiling! On the Sunday we stopped at Caerleon. We'd never been there before but will definitely be going again (staying with Superbreak in Newport probably). The old town is a gem with lovelly town houses enclosed in a town wall. We found a fascinating sculpture garden with a relaxed and very civilised cafe (Ffwrrwm Cafe) where we had a great brunch for two for about ?10- excellent value. We will definitely return to both Cardiff and Caerleon and use the Superbreak hotels which are all good value, well situated and often of interest in their own right.
